Orange Cake

Wow how lazy can a person be? Well, I thought since I'm blogging after a long time, then let it be sweet :) ... Can't hide my passion for food. I've been having this orange cake since some times now, although I never liked orange cakes before. I used to find them very ... um let's say dense and the smell of orange in them is way too concentrated.

Now here is a winner, a moist, tasty, light and just right orange cake. Yum! My family members are crazy about it, and it's so easy to make.

The first thing that attracted me to this book was its cover. A girl sitting in the old, dark, and deserted hallway of a mansion, staring at a window that allowed a thin ray of light.

The cover looked dark (my type) and interesting. After reading the book, I felt like the girl on the cover, as though the light was an indication that the tour I took in this mansion ended, and it's time to go back to the real world.

I loved the stories, some almost made me cry, others made me angry (in a positive way). The short horror stories were like small captivating cookies locked in a dark jar. I kept reaching for more until I couldn’t get any out. It was empty, and that ticked me off, I wanted more!

Each story has its own taste and color. Every character stood strong in the middle of well-developed plots that lead suspensefully to climaxes.

R Thomas Riley is a talented Author. I wish I can take a trip in his mind and see what in the world is going on there. Perhaps I should have purchased the hard copy instead of the electronic version, to keep it next to my Stephen King collections.

I look forward to reading more from R Thomas Riley.

Today and after nine years, I came across an old friend. Her round belly and enhanced breasts indicated that she must have been pregnant. She is one person I could never forget because of a terrifying incident that happened to her.

She had the habit of dating more than one man at the same time, and boy was she picky. She liked them rich, handsome, tall, and classy. I saw many come and go. It was amazing how quickly she found them. Anyway, among those I saw or heard of, was this extremely handsome guy, from his expensive four wheel drive and the way he took care of himself, I would even say, he must have been a very rich one. After two successful dates, my friend seemed to be quite impressed, and decided to go steady with him.

He picked her up one day, asked her if it was Ok to pass by his friends house, she had no problem with that. He left her in the car and entered a big fancy looking house. I forgot to mention that my friend was snoopy too. So, she decided to check what was making all those clinking sounds in the rear of the car every time they took a turn.

She jumped to the back seat, and found a blanket in the trunk, which covered handcuffs, a sword, knives, whips, and chains. When she saw him approaching the car, she had enough time to jump to the front seat and pretend like she didn't see anything frightening. Her heart beat fast, but what increased it's pace, was her boyfriend's red shot eyes, and the funny smell that emanated from him. He hadn't smelled like that earlier.

He got in the car and drove fast without saying much. By the time they reached a deserted beach for their romantic outing, it was dark.

She asked him to stop the car but he didn't and laughed. At that, she opened her door and jumped out of the fast moving car, and ran. He followed her with the car. First, he asked her to get back in nicely. She didn't answer. He then switched to rudely demanding her return, but she kept running.

Guess what his next step was. He decided to run her over, and almost succeeded on the third try.

She ran through narrow alley's to lose him, and her plan worked. She lost him.
I asked her to go to the police but she refused out of fear of him. After a month, she resigned and I never heard from her or saw her again, up until today!

I just hope she learned her lesson.

WOW!

I'm so excited. This is my first blog, feels like I just moved to a new house, I guess. Don't know if I'll be able to post something everyday, but will try.

About Me

I fell in love with writing about two years ago. I am working on my first book right now, there were many downs and few ups so far, but I'm learning and proud of every progress I make even if it's a tiny one. My admiration and respect for authors grew with each chapter I wrote and each obstacle I overcame.
